Air Marshal Sujit Pushpakar Dharkar will become the new Vice-Chief of the Indian Air Force. He will replace Air Marshal AP Singh. AP Singh is going to become the new Chief of the Indian Air Force.
Air Marshal SP Dharkar is a brilliant fighter pilot. He has 3600 hours of experience flying fighter jets. He is an alumnus of the National Indian Military College, Dehradun. Apart from this, he has also studied at NDA Pune, Defense Services Staff College Wellington and Air War College, America.

Air Marshal SP Dharkar was commissioned into the Air Force in June 1985. He is a qualified flight instructor, fighter strike leader and instrument rating instructor and examiner. Dharkar has also been an Air Force examiner. During his career, he has also commanded a front line fighter squadron and a fighter flying training establishment.

He has trained medium and senior level officers at the Defense Services Staff College and the College of Air Warfare in Secunderabad. Dharkar has also been Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Training) and Air Defense Commander at the Air Headquarters of Eastern Air Command Headquarters. He has also been the first Director General of the Defense Space Agency. For the last 2 years, he has also been the head of the Eastern Air Command.
