At around 12 o’clock on Wednesday night, a crowd created a ruckus and vandalized the hospital at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Before this, workers of many leftist organizations were protesting in front of the medical college with the flags and banners of their respective organizations. Everyone’s demand was that the victim should get justice. The protesting youth were shouting slogans of ‘We want justice’. Women were moving forward with candles.
According to the Lallantop report, the way to enter the medical college was closed by putting up barricades. Workers of left organizations were protesting on the road outside the barricades. Medical college students were not included in this. While the students were requesting with folded hands to maintain distance from party workers and other people. At the same time, people from political parties were trying to enter the college by any means.
Let us tell you that the left organizations had called for a protest at 12 midnight. In this sequence, the workers were protesting. Then the barricades were broken. The policemen who were standing near the barricades went inside the hospital to save their lives. The angry mob broke the protest site. There was a camp inside the medical college in which the students were protesting. That place was also targeted by the mob.
